Lulu-Briggs receives Silverbird, Daily Independent awards

Executive Chairman of Moni Pulo Limited, an upstream Nigerian oil and gas company, Mrs. Seinye O. B. Lulu Briggs, has been honoured with the Daily Independent Personality of the Year Award and Silverbird Group’s Extraordinary Achievement Award.’

Organisers of the awards said she was recognised for her work as a businesswoman and social investor, especially through her role as Chairman of the globally respected O. B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation, which spends millions of naira yearly on philanthropic projects across the country.

“This award, which is a recognition of my work and that of the employees of my companies and of the foundation, is a testimony to the fact that it is good to be good,” Mrs. Lulu-Briggs said at the Independent Newspapers awards.

In the last few years, Mrs. Lulu-Briggs has become a stronger advocate for the proper treatment of widows and their children. She began her advocacy after the death of her husband in 2018. Her foundation partners with the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA) in offering free legal services to widows in the country.
