Maguire Responds To Ghanaian Parliamentarian Who Mocked Him
England and Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has responded to the apology rendered by a Ghanaian parliamentarian Isaac Adongo who mocked him several months ago for scoring own goals against his team.
Mr. Isaac Adongo was seen mocking the defender in a viral video saying Maguire was once the most expensive defender and the best in his position, but over time he would even score against his own team.
Adongo, the MP for Bolgatanga Central, gained international attention last year for mocking Maguire and comparing his performance to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. However, he has since changed his opinion, now believing that Harry Maguire is performing better than Dr. Bawumia.
Adongo expressed this change of heart while addressing the parliament on Tuesday, acknowledging Maguire’s turnaround and recognizing him as a key player for Erik ten Hag’s team.
In a short video Isaac Adongo had said; “Today, Maguire has turned the corner and is a transformational footballer” Today Harry Maguire is now scoring goals for Manchester United” he had said.
The statement in full; “I must express my sincere apologies to Harry Maguire for hastily comparing my esteemed colleague Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to him,” Adongo said.
“Today, Maguire has undergone a transformative journey in football, emerging as a key player for Manchester United. In contrast, our ‘Maguire’ is currently navigating the corridors of the IMF with a cup in hand.”
