Makarfi sets up PDP convention planning committee

Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has inaugurated the national convention planning committee.

The convention is scheduled to hold on August 17 in Port Harcourt.

The committee later held its inaugural meeting at the Government House, Port Harcourt. In attendance were former Kogi State Governor, Ibrahim Idris, Senator Ben Obi and other members of the caretaker committee.

Addressing the meeting, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, urged members to work towards ensuring the success of the convention.

He also appealed to the committee to ensure that the forthcoming national convention supersedes the one of May 21, 2016.
