A 23-year-old boy, Adamu Mohammed, of Korokpan village in Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State, has admitted to engaging in anal sex with six under-aged boys, aged between 10 and 12. The police acting on a tip-off arrested the suspect while trying to escape to an unknown destination.

The Guardian gathered that sometime last month, one Yusuf Buhari, of the same address reported to the police that Mohammed lured his son, Luka Jonathan, 10, into his room and had sexual intercourse with him through the anus.

Other victims he had carnal knowledge of include Safari Aliyu, 12; Patrick Raymond, 10; Donald Anthony, 12; Yakubu Aliyu, 11 and Pius Raymond, 10 all of the same address.

The suspect who was said to have migrated from Jigawa State is unmarried and had been involved in the act for the past two years. He told The Guardian that he resorted to the act because his girlfriend left him and no other girl was willing to have sex with him.

“My girlfriend and myself separated long ago because of her constant denial of sex and since then I have had no girlfriend, even when I made effort to get one it didn’t work and I decided to be making love to under-aged boys in my area.

“I enjoy sleeping with those little boys since I cannot impregnate them, I enjoy doing it from time to time and I find it extremely difficult to leave because it has become part of me.”

On whether he was having the sexual intercourse with the under-aged boys for ritual purposes, Mohammed said he was doing it to satisfy himself. The suspect also confessed giving his victims sweets, coke and biscuits after the act of sodomy as gratification but regretted his action.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, on Sunday confirmed the incident saying the suspect was caught in the act. Abubakar described the case as disturbing, nasty and dehumanizing. “We need to build the confidence of the children so that they can tell their parents anything or any challenge they are facing at any time. It is unfortunate and sad that a child will face such situation without telling his parents”.
