Man kills mum for stopping him from taking hard drugs

Salamatu Abubakar, 45-year old was killed for her displeasure over her son’s special interest in hard drugs.

According to the Commissioner of Police, Babatunde Ishola Babaita, the accused went after his biological mother penultimate Tuesday, when he couldn’t bear her nagging over his constant drug intake.

Neighbours, however, rushed Salamatu to the General Hospital Kumo , where she was confirmed dead on arrival by medical personnel.

The police boss also said a 53-year-old Adamu Lawal of Manawachi quarters, last year February lured and raped a 10-year old Khadija Abdullahi in the state metropolis.

He immediately took to his heels only to be arrested this week.

Babaita added the trio of Adamu Bappah (20 years), Adamu Hamayo (17) and Mohammed Abba (18) all of Jauri Shehu village in Akko LGA are in police net for their unholy link to the killing of Umaru Babawuro of the nearby Gamiji village during a fracas.

The CP added that his men on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old dismissed Airforce personnel, Abdulrashid Yusuf and his cohort, Emmanuel Kamirani (now at large) for going about defrauding unsuspecting Point Of Sale (POS) operators with fake credit alerts during transactions.

“Luck ran out on them when they defrauded one Haruna Hassan of N30,000 cash,” Babaita disclosed.

The CP advised parents to adopt a subtle way to approach their erring wards, urging the youth to shun hard drugs.
