Medical chiefs demand prompt payment of outsourced services

The Committee of Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors of Federal Tertiary Hospitals has urged the Federal Ministry of Finance to expedite action on release of funds for payment of outsourced services.


The Committee of Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors of Federal Tertiary Hospitals has urged the Federal Ministry of Finance to expedite action on release of funds for payment of outsourced services.

Speaking, in Abuja, at the 81st meeting of CMDs, the Chairman, Committee of CMDs, Professor Thomas Agan, disclosed that the accruing liabilities of outsourced services was affecting critical operations, the livelihood of outsourced workers, and Chief Executives of Federal Tertiary Hospitals.

The committee therefore called on the Federal Ministry of Finance to separate payment for outsourced services being provided for Federal Tertiary Hospitals from the national debt, to facilitate urgent payment.

The committee further recommended that a budget should be created to cater for workers providing security, cleaning and other essential services at the hospitals.
