Flying Doctors Nigeria (FDN), West Africa’s first indigenous and internationally accredited service providers, will partner Lufthansa Group, one of the leading airlines in the world, to bring health and medical services closer to the people.

Flying Doctors Nigeria (FDN), West Africa’s first indigenous and internationally accredited service provider, is partnering Lufthansa Group, one of the leading airlines in the world, to bring health and medical services closer to the people.

The partnership aims at providing a myriad of medical assistance services to local and international patients suffering from injuries or other health-related problems.

Leveraging Lufthansa’s access to 320 destinations and 104 countries across the globe, FDN assures of a global reach for its patient stretcher and other medical assistance services.

FDN Head of Operations, Mr. Ayotoro Adio, in a statement, disclosed that the gains of the collaboration include access to special fares for patients, family members and medical personnel.

He said: “Another benefit is easy flight booking through the use of a code that grants patients access to a dedicated Lufthansa Group online flight booking platform. As a customer-centric organisation, we like to use this opportunity to reiterate our resolution to continue working relentlessly to ensure we contribute a significant quota of helping to create a healthier world.

“This is an exciting milestone for us, given the strategic opportunity the partnership provides in complementing our drive and vision to revolutionise the delivery of healthcare.”

He added that through the partnership, Flying Doctors Nigeria is optimistic and efficiently positioned to assist in addressing some of the major challenges confronting the nation, especially in the area of accessing medical care safely and timely on a global scale.

“The impact of this will likewise be seen on the number of lives we would be helping to save in the coming years,” he added.  Founded by Dr. Ola Brown, MFR in 2010, Flying Doctors Nigeria is a tech-enabled global marketplace for emergency medical care. Since its establishment, it has been West Africa’s leading and internationally recognised emergency medical response service provider with a reputable record of safety and delivery of quality pre-hospital healthcare services.

Some of FDN’s services include air ambulance, ground ambulance, repatriation of mortal remains, commercial medical escort service as well as emergency transport unit service.

The company prides in a team of highly trained medical professionals who provide emergency medical care during transportation. They also offer medical consultations and referrals to medical facilities in Nigeria and abroad. These have been vital in saving the lives of many people in Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world.

FDN has responded to over 7,000 emergency requests globally and has served 47 out of 54 African countries, making it truly Pan-African. The company has also served over 100 countries across the globe and its experience operating as a player within the global healthcare ecosystem has positioned it to continuously deliver tailored healthcare solutions to clients within and outside Africa.

Additionally, FDN is an accredited International Assistance Group (IAG) service provider. On the other hand, Lufthansa Group is the leading European airline and one of the world’s leading airlines. The company operates a large fleet of over 270 aircraft and serves 320 destinations in 104 countries worldwide.

The airline also offers comprehensive medical services, which are available worldwide to international patients and to people suffering from injuries or other health-related problems. In cooperation with healthcare providers, Lufthansa is able to offer a broad portfolio of global expert services.

“In light of these remarkable attributes and shared values, FDN takes immense pride in having forged a strategic partnership with Lufthansa Airlines. This collaboration not only reflects our commitment to delivering top-tier medical solutions but also aligns with our vision of providing unparalleled care to patients across borders. By joining forces with Lufthansa, a distinguished airline that extends comprehensive medical services to a global community, we are empowered to enhance our offerings and ensure a wider reach for critical healthcare needs. This partnership stands as a testament to our dedication to excellence and our unwavering pursuit of elevating healthcare standards worldwide,” the statement added.
