Methodist Archbishop cautions politicians against power grabbing

The Archbishop of Lagos Methodist Church Nigeria, The Most Revd Dr. Isaac Ayobami Olawuyi, has called on all the nation’s stakeholders to administer and rule the country with the fear of God in their respective callings.

Olawuyi, who made the call to ensure that no man is oppressed at all times, specifically tasked the politicians as well as others in their respective callings, regardless of tribe, political or religious linings to shun forcible political or economy office grabbing by hook or crook.

He passionately appealed to Nigerian leaders to administer the nation with such sober reflections for God to turn around the nation’s socio-economic situation back to her glorious past of a vibrant economy among the vibrant comity of nations at all times.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Archdiocese of Lagos Methodist Church Nigeria, Bro Aramide Tola, the clergy remarked these while celebrating the silver jubilee anniversary celebrations of the Church tagged, ‘Prepare for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.’

Outlining the programme of the celebration in the accompany of his wife, Sis Olufunmilayo Olawuyi as well as Sir Olugbolahan Olayomi (KJW), Olawuyi, enumerated plans for such events, including a book launch and presentation of the historic journey through the founding of the Lagos Diocese.
