Minister, medical community mourn MLSCN registrar

The medical community is mourning the loss of the Registrar of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), Prof. Tosan Erhabor, with dignitaries and colleagues paying their respects.

The Minister for Health (State) Dr. Ishiaq Adekunle Salako visited Erhabor’s Abuja residence shortly after his death was announced to offer condolences to his family, demonstrating the high regard and esteem with which the late professor was held.

The National President of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), Dr. Uche Odionyenma also paid tribute to Prof. Erhabor’s memory during a press conference at the World Biomedical Day event in Imo State.

The president called for a minute silence to honour the late registrar, while highlighting his significant contributions to the field of medical laboratory science and the digitalization he brought to Council processes.

In an earlier memo to members, Odionyenma had directed that condolence registers be opened across facilities, chapters and branches and a three-day mourning period be observed in memory of the registrar.

Furthermore, the AMLSN national president signed the condolence register at the Imo State Branch of the Association, further demonstrating the outpouring of support for the bereaved family.

These gestures underscore the respect and regard for Prof. Erhabor within the medical community, particularly among professionals who worked alongside him in the Medical Laboratory Science community.

As the medical community continues to mourn the loss of Prof. Erhabor, his legacy will undoubtedly live on through the countless lives he touched.
