Following the killings in parts of Kajuru Council of Kaduna State, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has called on all and sundry, particularly the affected Fulani, to remain calm and ignore all forms of provocation to consider retaliation.

The association commended Governor Nasir el-Rufai for ensuring that the situation was brought under control.

Assistant women leader of MACBAN, Khadijah Ardido, made the appeal while speaking with journalists in Kaduna yesterday.

According to her, it is unfortunate and most painful that people were killed with reckless abandon, including women and children, and people with no human feelings deny the killings.

“As I speak to you now, some of the injured are still in the hospital, it is painful that the Fulani are being killed not only in Kaduna State but in several other parts of the country and little or nothing is being done about it.

“The government must rise to this challenge and stop all forms of unwarranted killings. There must be respect for human lives,” she stressed.

While reminding the killers that their action is evil, she called on the people not to revolt.

Commending el-Rufai for steps so far taken, she added: “The government should ensure that proper investigation is carried out and whoever is found guilty should be made to face the full wrath of the law, at least to serve as deterrent to others now and in the future.”
