In the drive to alleviate poverty and make life better for the less privileged, the Mma Mary Foundation (MMF) has empowered 15 children of Salvation Army Nursery & Primary School, Surulere, Lagos.

The foundation also provided the beneficiaries with school materials.

Chairman, MMF Board of Trustees, Ima Kashim, said the foundation is keen to carry on the legacies of the late Mary Abasi Iyang, in whose memory the MMF was founded.

She said: “We the children of Mary Bassey Inyang, soon after her passing, established the MMF to carry on her awesome legacies, which include showing compassion to the less privileged and lifting the poor from poverty. We are also focused on teaching the gospel of compassion, as Mma Mary was very compassionate.”

In her remarks, the School Manager, Salvation Army Nursery and Primary School, Mrs. J.U. Umeaniadi expressed her gratitude to the foundation for coming up with the idea of making people know the worth of compassion and for encouraging honesty.

She said, “Today is a special day for us as the MMF visited us. We are lucky to be the first people they visited. They came with many good things, fed all the children, kit the less privileged and honest ones with schooling materials and we are very happy for the experience.”
