Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ogun State chapter, has urged the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, and security agencies in the state to mobilise available resources to put an end to cult killings.

Rising from the PCRC Remo 2023 Security Summit in Sagamu, the PCRC Chairman, Dr Samson Popoola, stated that cult killings and other social vices were on the rise in Ogun State, resulting in killings, maiming, and destroying of property.

Popoola noted that arrested cultists must be prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others while extending the olive branch for genuine repentance.

He pointed out that recent cold-blooded murder of some residents of Sagamu and its environment suspected cultists and the burning of banks and other critical government and private Infrastructure during the naira swap exchange saga were part of damage caused by cultism in the state.

The PCRC Chairman also stated that campus and community cult rivalries, clashes, and conflicts highlight the reality of the increasing danger of the menace.
