Moghalu takes over at NIWA
The newly-appointed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief George Moghalu, has promised to continue with ongoing viable and justifiable projects of the agency as long as they conform to due process and the act establishing NIWA.
He was speaking yesterday when he formally took over the rein of the organisation from the acting MD/CEO, Danladi Ibrahim, at NIWA headquarters in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The new MD noted that the overall policy of NIWA was to transform the inland waterways, not only to make them economically viable, but to also provide a safe, reliable and alternate transport system to ease movement across the country.
