Mr. Macaroni, Segun Arinze, others for Civic Fest Africa 2024

A seasoned comic, Adebowale Adedayo, alias Mr. Macaroni and veteran actor, Segun Arinze, are among personalities to headline the 2024 edition of Civic Fest Africa along with Rez Afolabi and Andres Laguna.

A seasoned comic, Adebowale Adedayo, alias Mr. Macaroni and veteran actor, Segun Arinze, are among personalities to headline the 2024 edition of Civic Fest Africa along with Rez Afolabi and Andres Laguna.

The event, curated by AdvoKC Foundation led by Abiola Durodola, which is slated for October 1, 2024 at the Lagos Theatre, Igando, is being organised in partnership with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) (Lagos State), Miss Teen Nigeria, Learn Politics, Amonite Kitchen and PoliZ.

Civic Fest Africa is a youth-led civic tech organisation focused on promoting transparency, accountability and citizen engagement in Nigeria through the arts and technology.

“Through initiatives like Civic Fest Africa, we empower citizens and advocate for an active and informed democracy,” Project Lead, Civic Fest Africa and Project Director, AdvoKC Foundation, Habib Sheidu said.

Themed ‘Sustainable Citizenship’, the event aims to inspire civic consciousness among young people through various forms of art, including spoken word performances, music, drama, short films, panel discussions, games, and more.

Keynote speakers, Segun Arinze and Andres Laguna will talk on ‘The Role of Creatives in Building Sustainable Citizenship’; exploring how the creative industry can influence civic engagement.

Other notable panelists include Enwai Ekpenyong, Ololade Ajayi, Simbiat Bakare, and Dayo Ibitoye.
