Nigerian fintech expert, Ken Nwokike, has a vision for Micro and Medium-Scale Enterprises that is far beyond mere digital solutions.
In a significant contribution to the development of Nigeria’s MSME sector, a First Class graduate of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, is one of Nigeria’s finance and technology entrepreneurs with a commitment to and patriotism to contribute significantly to the growth of the sector.
To drive this vision to reality, the Founder of Aroda Finance, Nwokike, recently met with the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, to discuss forward-looking strategies aimed at attracting sustainable investment and empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the state and the country at large.
Having worked in different sectors of the Nigerian economy, including Power, Information Technology, and Finance Regulation, Nwokike brings his wealth of experience to bear largely on his activities.
Also committed to boosting his knowledge base, he completed an MBA program and went through programs in notable universities, including Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, both in the USA, and the famous Cambridge University, United Kingdom.
Nwokike began his career as a power engineer in a consulting firm under the National Power Project, termed the Integrated Power Project, where he designed power distribution and transmission networks.
He later joined Galaxy Backbone Plc, a Federal Government-owned Information Technology Company, where he started his IT career as a network engineer with the responsibility of setting up internet connectivity for all government agencies and thereafter, before he joined the Information Department.
The First Class Electrical and Electronic Engineer turned IT expert later joined the Technology Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), where he was a Team Lead for several projects such as the Enterprise Backup Solution, the Enterprise Email Solution Upgrade, Oracle Database Upgrade, and deployment of several applications. He was part of the project team to set up the NIRSAL National Microfinance Bank.
He also worked in other departments such as the Development Finance Department and the Trade and Exchange Department of the CBN.
The Fintech expert is currently the Acting Managing Director of Payment Access Systems Limited, a fintech company that provides seamless and reliable payment solutions to the public and private sectors.
As the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Aroda Finance Ltd—a business consultancy and tech company—Nwokike offers small businesses integrated tools for inventory management, order processing, cross-border payments, and CRM.
With over a decade of experience in financial technology, Nwokike’s vision for MSMEs indeed goes beyond just digital solutions.
