N950 million fraud: Shekarau, Wali other file no case submission

Senator representing Kano central, Ibrahim Shekarau, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Aminu Wali and campaign director of former president Goodluck Jonathan, Mansur Ahmed, have filed no case submission on the alleged N950 million fraud.

The trio are facing six count-charge bothering on conspiracy and money laundering, to the tune of N950,000,000 filed by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to the prosecution, the sum total amount involved in the criminal charges was allegedly give to the defendants by former minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison Madueke for Jonathan’s election campaign in the North west.

In there charges, EFCC had insisted that the monies in question are proceeds of unlawful earning gotten from the public treasury while serving as minister under Jonathan administration.

Meanwhile the EFCC did not only opposed the defense applications but urged the court to dismiss their appeal with directive to open defense.

Justice Lewis Allagoa has adjourned the case to 20th September, 2019 for ruling.
