The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified efforts to strengthen its intelligence-driven operational capabilities with the graduation of participants of the Basic Intelligence Course 34/2026 at the Nigerian Air Force School of Air Intelligence (NAFSAINT), Makurdi.
The graduation ceremony, which held on Friday, May 8, 2026, was announced in a statement shared on the Nigerian Air Force’s official X handle.
Representing the Chief of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Nnamdi Ananaba, the Director of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Ukpong, described the graduation as a significant milestone in the Air Force’s ongoing commitment to developing highly skilled intelligence personnel capable of supporting national security objectives.
Ukpong stated that the country’s evolving security challenges require well-trained, mission-oriented intelligence officers who can effectively support ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations across the country.
According to him, the course was designed to equip participants with specialised knowledge in intelligence operations, operational analysis, security support, and mission-focused capability development.
He explained that the training was aimed at enhancing the analytical, reporting, and decision-making capabilities of the participants to improve operational efficiency within the Nigerian Air Force.
The senior officer further stressed the importance of generating credible and actionable intelligence to support operational effectiveness and strategic decision-making in modern warfare and security operations.
He urged the graduating personnel to uphold professionalism, discipline, integrity, teamwork, and continuous self-development in line with emerging technological advancements and contemporary security realities.
Ukpong also noted that the graduation reflects the commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, to strengthening intelligence capacity development and advancing intelligence-led operations as a critical component of national security.
He added that sustained investment in training institutions and human capital development remains essential to improving the Nigerian Air Force’s mission readiness and operational effectiveness in addressing emerging security threats nationwide.
According to the statement, the Nigerian Air Force remains committed to restoring peace and enhancing national stability through proactive and precision-driven operations supported by credible intelligence.
The Air Force added that its intelligence-led operations are also aimed at creating an enabling environment for socio-economic growth and development across the country.
