The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole killed scores of Boko Haram terrorists on Saturday in their Baga, Borno State, hideouts.
The neutralisation of the terrorists were carried out after Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform spotted them assembling under trees near a fish dam.
Director of NAF Public Relations, Air Cdr. Ibikunle Daramola, disclosed this in a statement released yesterday in Maiduguri. According to him, the ATF dispatched an Alpha Jet aircraft to attack the identified hideouts.
On the terrorists’ killings, he said: “The aircraft launched multiple attack passes, killing several of the terrorists and causing serious injuries to others,” adding that surviving terrorists were also mopped up in subsequent air strikes.
