NASFAT Mourns Veteran Journalist, Kola Animashaun

The leadership of Nasrul LahiL Fatih Society (NASFAT) commiserates with the family of the veteran journalist and a doyen of journalism, Alhaji Muslim Kola Animashaun, whose death occurred on Thursday, the 25th day of Ramadan 1440AH at the age of 80.

A statement by its Publicity Secretary, Banji Busari, recalled that Animashaun carved a niche for himself as one of the few thoroughbred journalists of his generation, whose column in the Vanguard ‘Voice of Reason’/enjoyed vast readership in view of the lucid and simple manner of his writing.

“As a leading light in journalism in this country, the late Alhaji Kola Animashaun demonstrated a rare sense of patriotism in providing intervention towards a moral and socio economic stability in the polity…”

He could appropriately be described as a mentor of mentors as his creative and administrative influence loomed very large among the upcoming journalists and established editors during his active career

In the industry today arguably not a few of the editors have passed through his mentorship directly or indirectly.

His death is apparently a big loss to the journalism profession and the nation at large.

NASFAT prays Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannah firdaos and grant his immediate family, Nigeria Union of journalists, Guild of Editors and all the stakeholders in journalism profession the strength to bear the irreparable loss ..
