National security: FG seeks telecom professionals’ support to fight crime
As the nation’s security agencies continue to grapple with alternatives to resolving the different issues in different parts of the country, the Federal Government has enjoined the Association of Telecommunications Professionals (ATP) to support the fight against crime in the country.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal who made the appeal yesterday in Abuja to a delegation of the group led by the president, Adede Williams during a courtesy call in his office said that the use of telecommunication gadgets in recent times, has become common place in the country that “criminal activities today are perpetrated with the use of modern communication technology such as remote detonating devices.”
Meanwhile, the SGF has also asked the Chinese government to ban the importation of substandard goods into Nigeria and transfer their homegrown technology to Nigerians.
