NDDC begins roads, drainage projects in IMSU
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has commenced the construction of internal roads and drainage system in the Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri.
The project, estimated to cost N350 million, is expected to tackle erosion and road challenges within the university.
Leader of NDDC team, Tony Okanne, who disclosed this during the flag-off of the project at the weekend, said the commission had taken up the asphalt of about 1.58 kilometres of roads and 2.5 kilometres of drainage system.
He attributed attraction of the contract to efforts of Vice Chancellor of the university, who he said, made several requests to their office for the project.
In his own remarks, Managing Director, Wisley Engineering Company Ltd, the contracting firm handling the project, Isaac Nwonwu, expressed his desire to have the project completed within the specified period.
