NDIC boss to speak at LAPO conference today
The Managing director of the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Umaru Ibrahim, will today, deliver a keynote address at the 2016 LAPO Institute Conference on Microfinance and Enterprise Development in Benin City, Edo State.
The two-day event with the theme, “Confronting the scourge of poverty through microfinance – Issues and Challenges,” would also witness a paper to be delivered by the managing director of Grooming Centre, Godwin Nwabunka, while the Vice Chancellor of Samuel Adegboyega University, Ben Aigbokhan, is chairing the occasion.
A statement by the organisers, said the conference aims to tackle the scourge of poverty through the promotion of microfinance and enterprise development in Nigeria and Africa in general.
The event also provides a veritable platform for stakeholders to examine current issues and challenges bedeviling the microfinance industry with a view to repositioning it as a veritable instrument for tackling poverty, enhancing social inclusion and accelerating national development.
