NDL harps on youth empowerment

Nigeria Distilleries Limited (NDL) has underscored the need for youth empowerment in the country. This, according to the firm, will aid in repositioning the youth as future leaders and guarantee a prosperous future for the most populous black nation.

It also said investment in young people would lead to sustainable transformation and development in the future. The Marketing Manager, NDL, brewers of Lord’s London Dry Gin, Oluwagbemileke Lawal, made the submission while unveiling the 2025 Lord’s Achievers Award (LAA) in Lagos.

The event, which will mark the seventh edition of the award, will spotlight individuals whose accomplishments transcend personal success to drive socio-economic progress.

Speaking on the need to invest in young people, Lawal stated: “Our investment in the Lord’s Achievers Awards (LAA) is a reflection of our long-standing belief in the power of youths to shape the future by recognising young leaders and innovators across diverse sectors.”

We are celebrating achievements while creating a platform that inspires, encourages, and empowers others to take bold steps toward positive change.

“The annual event seeks to celebrate young achievers, leaders, innovators, and changemakers whose works embody excellence, leadership, and societal impact.

“The 2025 Awards will also see the introduction of four new categories: Media & Journalism, Sports, Content Creation, and Film & Entertainment, while ensuring a broader recognition of achievers across emerging and influential sectors.”

Lawal added that by celebrating excellence and continually refining the platform, the award remains committed to recognising and inspiring individuals creating meaningful and lasting impacts.
