NECO sacks 19 for alleged certificate forgery
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has sacked 19 of its workers for forging their certificates.
The Head, Information and Public Relations Division of the organisation, Azeez Sani, yesterday said the dismissal was approved by the Governing Board of NECO after vetting the report of a Staff Certificate Verification Committee set up by the council at its 52nd regular meeting.
Sani said the panel wrote the institutions where some of the affected workers claimed to have attended only for them to deny issuing them the certificates.
He said: “The Governing Board of the National Examinations Council (NECO) has approved the dismissal of 19 staff from her service for certificate forgery.”
