NerdzFactory Company Limited has announced the launch of the Youth Sustainable Enterprise Challenge (YSEC) programme in Ogun State, Nigeria.
This initiative is being funded by the British Council, implemented in technical partnership with King’s Trust International and delivered by NerdzFactory Company Limited.
The YSEC is part of the British Council’s Youth Connect global programme, which aims to provide positive pathways for young people through entrepreneurship, employability, and active citizenship.
The YSEC programme is designed to equip 80 young people in Ogun State, aged between 18 and 35 years, with the skills, tools, and resources needed to start and sustain successful businesses. With a strong focus on inclusion, the programme targets both aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs, including women and persons living with disabilities. The initiative is also being delivered in Imo, Jigawa, Abuja, and Rivers states, targeting the same number and demographics.
This marks the third edition of the YSEC programme being delivered by NerdzFactory Company. While the first two project cycles were successfully implemented in Lagos State, this third edition is expanding to Ogun State, bringing the same quality and impact to a new group of young Nigerians.
The programme, set to run from June to September 2025, will feature intensive business and entrepreneurship training, structured mentorship, and a pitch competition where finalists will receive grant support to scale their business ideas.
According to Programme Director at NerdzFactory, Ade Olowojoba, “This programme is not just about training young people. It’s about creating a pipeline of confident and capable entrepreneurs who can build sustainable ventures and make meaningful contributions to the local economy. Our focus on Ogun State is intentional; we believe in the potential of young people in this region.”
The YSEC curriculum will cover a range of practical topics, including financial management, digital marketing, sustainable business practices, and legal compliance. Beyond training, participants will benefit from structured mentorship, role model sessions, and ongoing alumni support.
This initiative aligns with NerdzFactory Company’s mission to unlock human potential and promote inclusive economic growth. With the two successful editions previously delivered in Lagos, training 130 young people, many of whom have since launched businesses or secured employment, this third phase builds on that impact and expands the programme’s reach to Ogun State.
