The Focus on Growth and Development (FOGDEV) organisation has empowered over 1,000 participants with essential digital skills: Empower Her 1.0 and Remote Work 3.0.
The Empower Her 1.0 programme is aimed at reducing the gender gap in technology by engaging women from diverse backgrounds, including stay-at-home moms and aspiring entrepreneurs, in sessions on digital marketing and graphic design.
FOGDEV’s Programme Coordinator, Olufunmi Fatokun, said “Empowering women with digital skills is key to changing communities and growing the economy.”
The organisation also said through Remote Work 3.0, it trained participants in the essentials of remote work, covering both technical tools and vital soft skills like accountability and effective communication. The programme coordinator in her words noted: “Remote work isn’t just a buzzword anymore—it’s the future,” stressing the need for Nigerians to seize these opportunities.
Fatokun revealed that the programme was primarily designed to give women the tools needed to thrive in the digital economy. “ I urge Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunities in remote work.”
