
The event was attended by representatives of Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs), accredited healthcare providers and a cross-section of enrollees from several Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
General Manager of Lagos Zonal Office, Olufemi Akingbade, stressed that the forum was to provide updates on key reforms and initiatives, besides encouraging engagement among stakeholders.
“It serves as both a vehicle of information dissemination and a source for feedback from other key players in the health insurance ecosystem,” he explained.
Deputy General Manager and Head of Standards and Quality Assurance Department, Dr. Abraham Bethuel-Kasimu, highlighted the flagship Group, Individual, Family Social Health Insurance Programme (GIFSHIP), which was recently expanded to mandatorily cover all serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
He said the scheme provides a comprehensive benefits package that also covers emergency medical services and out-of-station care.
In line with its commitment to providing responsive services to its enrollees, a complaint redress mechanism was instituted.
