Nicki Minaj backs Kemi Badenoch for PM

American rapper and multiple Grammy-nominated artist Nicki Minaj has revealed herself to be a surprise supporter of Kemi Badenoch after the Tory leader took aim at the Labour government on Wednesday.

The U.S. rapper – a fervent supporter of Donald Trump – endorsed Badenoch on X, calling her “one of a kind”.

The Leader of the Opposition hit out at Keir Starmer and Wes Streeting in the House of Commons on Wednesday.

She mocked Streeting about his leadership ambitions, saying he “has been a bit distracted lately” adding: “Why don’t you just do your job?”

She added: “There’s no point in giving me dirty looks. We all know what he’s been up to.”

She also said Starmer was “in office, but not in power” – the phrase used by Norman Lamont to describe John Major’s administration in 1993 after his exit as chancellor.

Badenoch said: “In the past 48 hours, nearly 100 Labour MPs have called for the Prime Minister to resign. Four ministers have quit.

“It is clear his authority has gone and that he will not be able to deliver what little there is in this King’s Speech.”

Her words appeared to have gone down well with Minaj, who compared her to Margaret Thatcher and claimed there will be films made about her.

Sharing footage of Badenoch in the Commons, she posted: “The UK is truly one of a kind.

“They will portray her in film and TV one day… just like they did with Margaret Thatcher.”
