Niger NUJ council condemns killing of Tordue Salem

The Niger State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has described the killing of Vanguard Newspaper reporter, the Late Henry Tordue Salem as one too many for the journalism profession to bear.

The Niger State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has described the killing of Vanguard Newspaper reporter, the Late Henry Tordue Salem as one too many for the journalism profession to bear.
 
A statement issued by the council’s secretary, Comrade Usman Chiji, yesterday, stated that the killing was a wicked and dastardly act of enemies of the journalism profession.
 
He added that the act is not only unfortunate but unacceptable, especially, as the world recently marked international day to end impunity and other violent attacks against journalists world over.
  


The council also supported calls for in- depth investigation to unravel the immediate and remote circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of Mr.Tordue.
 
It also condoled with the National President of NUJ, the entire National Secretariat and NUJ Zone D over the tragedy, and prayed to God to comfort the bereaved family.
