The Niger State Police Command has called on retired police officers who were not captured in the first phase of registration for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to note that the second phase of the registration will commence tomorrow and run till Thursday, March 25, 2021.

In a statement signed by the command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the command said the enrolment is scheduled to hold in all Police Area Commands of the state.

The statement advised retired police officers with his/her spouse, who were not captured during the first phase of the exercise, to visit the nearest Police Area Command with letter of retirement and identity card.

It explained that the exercise is aimed at ensuring that no retired police officer, including his/her spouse is left out from having full access to NHIS, savings and benefits covered by the Police Health Maintenance Organization Code.073, which is free without any form of deduction from retirees’ monthly pension.

However, the Niger State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman, enjoined retired officers to key into Inspector General of Police’s giant stride by taking advantage of the second phase of the exercise, which will avail them with affordable healthcare services in retirement.
