A former member of the House of Representatives, Shina Abiola Peller, has said that Nigeria would be a better place if its leaders make the people the centre of issues and governance.
Peller, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the 40th anniversary of prophetic mission of Sheikh Taofeeq Raji Afikeushola Al-mubarak, added that Nigeria needed to get the right leadership for things to turn around for the better.
The former lawmaker said that he has known the celebrant for more than a decade and what stood him out as an Islamic cleric’’is his selflessness and transparency in engagement.’’
Peller, therefore, appealed to Nigerian leaders to take after the Islamic cleric to be selfless and transparent, adding that the Afikeushola is not one of the dubious clerics.
Afikeushola, who thanked all who honoured and came to celebrate with him on the milestone, charged clerics not to do the work of God for the sake of money.
He also implored government and clerics to be steadfast, noting that there will be challenges but they must focus to their callings. He promised not to relent in doing God’s will and thanked all those that supported his ministry in one way or the other.
