The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has mourned the Founding General Overseer of All Christian Fellowship Mission Worldwide, the late Rev. William Uzochukwu Okoye, who passed on 15th July 2026, in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
Speaking at the Service of Songs organized by the church, the President of CAN, Archbishop Daniel C. Okoh, described the late Rev. Okoye as an ardent nation-builder, preaching sound biblical teachings, and a transformed and purpose-driven son of God.
Rev. Okoh also stated that the cleric would be remembered as a revivalist in Abuja, and by extension Nigeria, having served as the National Director on Nigeria Issues for CAN, the office that fittingly handles economic, political and social matters as it affects the country’s Christian community.
He therefore called on Christians to take solace in the fact that the departed Minister of God lived to serve humanity and his generation, working with two Nigerian Presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, at Aso Rock Villa Chapel, Abuja.
Contributing, the Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Arc. Ifeanyi Odedo said: Our prayer is that the death of God’s faithful servant will Kindle a fresh fire and revival in the mission, and many more of his type be birthed through the mission.
“Rev. (Dr.) William Okoye was several things to different persons. To some, he was the ‘Radio Pastor ‘; to others, he was an Apostle of Faith; and to many, he was a gospel crusader; a Pastor after God’s heart; to some, he was a leader par excellence and epitome of integrity,” he added.
In a message, Pastor of Peace House, Gbiko, Bro. Gbile Akanni took Bible text from 2 Timothy4:5-8 to admonish Christians that faithful men have gone to their rest with the Lord, saying, Rev. Okoye was one of such men of integrity, honesty, and consistent Christianity.
Goodwill messages came from the General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry Worldwide, Pastor W.F.Kumuyi, General Overseer of Nigeria Prays.
Those who attended the Service of Songs included officials of CAN, PFN, bishops, and Ministers from 36 states of Nigeria.
