The World Sustainable Development Goals (WSDGs) Organisation, has announced the appointment of Engr. Raphael Chukwudimma Chukwu as the Director of the No Poverty Agency to lead its West Africa Region.
As Director of the No Poverty Agency, Raphael is tasked with advancing policies that align Africa’s regional development with the SDGs, while inspiring other regions to strengthen their commitment to sustainability.
Reacting to his appointment, Raphael expressed appreciation to the organisation for entrusting him with this responsibility.
He pledged to dedicate his four-year tenure to upholding the organization’s five core pillars: “Touching lives, Transforming societies, Healing souls, Uniting Nations, and changing the world.”
It also recalled that the World Sustainable Development Goals Organisation is an international organization that operates within the UN member nations, covering the entire 17 SDGs as the scope of duty.
“In an era marked by pressing global challenges such as climate change, poverty, and inequality, the role of the local and international leadership in sustainable development organizations has never been more critical,” the organisation said.
“Engr. Raphal, as director of the No poverty Agency, World Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Organization is tasked with embodying and promoting the values enshrined within the United Nations. It is important to note that Africa, as one with the highest poverty rate, plays a significant role in achieving these goals.
“His presence at the regional forum provides an excellent opportunity to share West Africa progress and innovation, which could galvanize other regions to enhance their commitment to sustainable practice.
“Another significant expectation from Engr. Raphael is to foster international sustainable development issues that require collective efforts.”
Raphael reaffirmed his commitment to making West Africa a more sustainable and inclusive society, in line with the broader vision of the WSDGs Organisation.
His leadership is expected to drive impactful policies and foster regional collaboration, ultimately contributing to a more prosperous and sustainable future for West Africa and beyond
