The Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) says the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) has soared to N10.4 billion in January from N7.2 billion in December.

The EIRS Head of Communications, Courage Eboigbe, quoted the Chairman of the board, Mr Oladele Bankole-Balogun, as announcing this in a statement on Monday in Benin.

Bankole-Balogun attributed this achievement to the visionary leadership of Gov. Monday Okpebholo since assuming office in November.

“In just 100 days, Gov. Okpebholo’s leadership has enabled the EIRS to achieve an all-time revenue milestone, offering reassurance to the people that their future is bright and secure,” he said.

He said the governor had revitalised critical infrastructure with unprecedented speed, ensuring security, and creating tangible change for Edo citizens

“The governor is transforming his promises into reality under strong leadership, ” he said.

“In spite of skepticism, Edo has regained hope with new roads, rehabilitated infrastructure, and a bolstered security system,”he said.
