Eid-el-Fitr: Investors, firm fete Ogun communities

Beneficiary of the ongoing food outreach

Inhe spirit of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, international businessmen and foreign investors in the Nigerian market, Mr Sudeep Ramnani and Mr Jai Mahtani, in partnership with Pukka Logistics and Support Services Limited, have extended their ongoing food outreach to the people of Ifo Local Council of Ogun State.

This initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Nigerian government, aimed to alleviate hunger and food poverty in the country by distributing essential food items to residents.

The outreach team arrived in Ifo Local Council on March 28, where large quantities of food items were distributed to residents in need. Leading the initiative, the Managing Director of Pukka Logistics and Support Services Ltd, Beulah Akingbelu-Banjo, highlighted the far-reaching impact of the programme.

According to Akingbelu-Banjo, the outreach has already benefited thousands of Nigerians across several local government areas, with the goal to reach all 774 local government areas, one at a time.

He also noted that this humanitarian effort aligns with the broader mission of supporting vulnerable communities and addressing food insecurity through sustained intervention.

Reacting to the initiative, the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Council, Olalekan Idris Kusimo, expressed profound gratitude on behalf of his constituents. He commended the organisers for their generosity and commitment to addressing food insecurity.

Kusimo further emphasised the local government’s openness to more humanitarian gestures in the future, acknowledging the importance of such collaborations in tackling pressing social challenges. He said the initiative underscores the role of public-private partnerships in addressing food insecurity in Nigeria.
