As Muslims worldwide celebrate the sacred festival of Eid-El-Kabir, the Deputy President of the Senate and First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has conveyed warm felicitations to the Muslim community and all Nigerians.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau described the festival as a time for reflection, sacrifice, and spiritual rejuvenation.
“Eid-El-Kabir reminds us of the profound values of obedience, sacrifice, and trust in Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). As we observe this occasion, let us embody Islam’s core virtues—peace, justice, tolerance, and charity,” the statement said.
Senator Barau encouraged Nigerians to use this festive period to foster unity across ethnic and religious divides, support the less privileged, and pray earnestly for the nation’s peace and prosperity.
“May this Sallah be a moment of healing, unity, and recommitment to our shared aspirations. The spirit of Eid calls on us to rise above our differences and work collectively toward a stronger, more united Nigeria,” he urged.
He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his “clear and determined leadership” in steering the country through economic and security challenges.
“In just two years, the President has achieved significant progress in stabilising the nation and restoring hope. As legislators, we remain dedicated to providing the necessary support to fulfil the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Senator Barau affirmed.
Reassuring Nigerians, he pledged that the National Assembly would continue to champion policies and reforms that enhance lives and promote national cohesion.
He concluded by wishing all Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
