The FCT Police Command, led by the Anti-Narcotics Unit, has conducted a series of raids to combat illegal drug activities within the Federal Capital Territory.

The raids targeted locations known for the sale and consumption of illegal substances, including SDP Junction in Gwagwalada, Lugbe Federal Housing near Tipper Garage, Wuse Zone 5 near Access Bank, and AYA Roundabout.

During the operations, police apprehended eight individuals and seized evidence, including 100 rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm ammunition, a quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, and a quantity of encapsulated illicit drugs.

The operations demonstrate the FCT Police Command’s commitment to curbing the spread of illicit drug activities and ensuring the safety of residents.

The Command maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards drug-related crimes and continues to dedicate its efforts to safeguarding the well-being of the community.

In a statement, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, urged the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting the police in their efforts to fight crime by promptly reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through emergency lines.
