Invest in your development, commissioner tells civil servants
Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ini Ememobong, has urged civil servants in the state to invest in self-development and ensure they get better every year.
This, he said, they could do through training and skills acquisition. He said it will enable them improve themselves towards discharging their duties, especially in the face of challenging and ever-evolving world.
“Rather than compete with one another, which could be counter productive, improve yourself with skills and be authentic. Appraise yourself consistently to see noticeable achievements as you get into another year,” he said.
The commissioner, spoke in Uyo during birthday celebration of staff members of the Ministry born in March. He urged civil servants, particularly the celebrators, to strive to become better persons with significant achievements in self-improvement, positing that birthdays are opportunities to become better that the previous year.
Earlier, the coordinator of the event in the Ministry and Director of Public Relations, Mrs. Grace Akpan, expressed appreciation to Ememobong for remaining committed to staff welfare and wellbeing even as the administration winds down and in the face of cash crunch in the society. Akpan, herself one of the celebrators, thanked the management for supporting the Commissioner in his commitment to motivating the workforce.
