Kebbi: Bagudu approves N2.4b for constituency projects
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has approved 2.4 billion Naira for constituency projects in the state. The projects are to be executed under various ministries, departments and agencies in fulfillment of the policy thrust of the incumbent administration of provision of dividends of democracy to the people.
Briefing journalists yesterday, state commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Nura Usman Kangiwa explained that Governor Bagudu has mandated members of the State House of Assembly to identify important projects in their constituency for submission to appropriate ministries for his approval. The ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development would execute projects of 732.6 million in the provision of water and electricity.
Kangiwa said new water projects and renovation of existing water facilities would consume 499.4 million including procurement of new transformers, while rehabilitation of existing ones will attract 234 million.
He added that four million has been earmarked for the renovation of earth dams, while the projects would be executed in all the twenty-one local government areas.
