Again, NAF neutralizes scores of ISWAP terrorists in Borno
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under Operation Hadin Kai, has dealt a decisive blow to Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists following their early Saturday attack on troops at Sabon Gari, Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a security news outlet, that the terrorists, who launched the brazen assault in the early hours of January 4, killed at least five soldiers before retreating into the dense Timbuktu Triangle region.
Responding swiftly, NAF aircraft were deployed to intercept the fleeing insurgents.
During reconnaissance, the terrorists were located hiding under thick vegetation at Farin Ruwa, a known ISWAP hideout within the Timbuktu Triangle.
The sources added that precision airstrikes were conducted, neutralizing scores of terrorists and destroying their motorcycles, while ensuring maximum impact on the insurgents.
