“As a grassroots mobiliser, Kumo’s appointment is a plus for the APC. His loyalty, hard work, and generosity have earned him this recognition, and I believe his role will add value to the commission and the APC government as a whole,” Alabura added.

Kumo joins other distinguished appointees on the SEDC governing board, including Emeka Atuma, who was named Chairman, and Mark C. Okoye, who was appointed Managing Director/CEO. Alabura urged the Senate to expedite the confirmation process for all nominees, emphasising the critical role the SEDC plays in fostering development in the South East region.

“The SEDC has a vital mandate to drive growth and development in the region. It is imperative for the Senate to confirm these appointments promptly to enable the board to hit the ground running,” Alabura said.
