The Olurode family has announced the death of Alhaja Asmaau Abebi Olajiire Olurode, who passed away at the age of 95 years on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 (Fourth Safar, 1447 AH).

She was a respected matriarch known for her goodwill, unity, and wisdom, and the beloved mother of Prof. Lai Olurode, a distinguished academic and author.
 
In a statement on behalf of the family, Olurode said that Alhaja Olurode passed away after a life filled with devotion, kindness, and fulfilling motherhood.
 
The Janazah (funeral prayer) took place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., at The Wings School in Iwo, Osun State, in accordance with Islamic customs.
 
“We pray that Allah (SWT) forgives her shortcomings, accepts her good deeds, and grants her entry into Al-Jannah Firdaus. Amin,” he added.
