Governor Umaru Bago on Friday commissioned a power station under the rural electrification project in Paiko to boost power supply in Niger State.

According to a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Bologi Ibrahim, the project was sponsored by the member representing Paikoro at the Niger State House of Assembly, Umar Nasiru to connect Barikishi, Kopango, and Wambe communities in the Council area.

Ibrahim said Governor Bago applauded the effort of the lawmaker, adding that the project is a testament of effective and judicious use of public funds given to him.

“The governor said the power station will no doubt boost rural electrification in the local government area,” the spokesman wrote in a post on X.

The farmer governor then enjoined the people of the benefiting communities to protect the power station against vandalisation.
