A teacher at Blooming Green School, Lagos State, Olawole Aanuoluwapo, has won the 2024 President’s Teachers and Schools Excellence Award.

Aanuoluwapo was recognised as the best approved private primary school teacher in Nigeria, winning a national award.

She was awarded for her exceptional commitment to excellence and dedication to impacting the lives of his students.

Expressing gratitude, Aanuoluwapo thanked God and Blooming Green School for providing her with an enabling environment to thrive as a teacher, while attributing her success to her commitment to excellence, consistency, and passion for teaching.

Aanuoluwapo emphasised the importance of teachers being committed to excellence, whether or not they are being watched.

She advised her colleagues to remain passionate about their work, as diligence and hard work ultimately pay off.

The award-winning teacher also commended the Quality Assurance Team of Lagos State for their diligence in recognizing and rewarding outstanding teachers.

She praised the Lagos State government for its efforts at promoting education in Nigeria and encouraged them to continue their good work.

Also speaking, Proprietor/Chief Executive Officer of Blooming Greens School, Mrs. Susan Babatunde-Yamah, attributed the success of Aanuoluwapo, to the school’s investment in training and creating an enabling environment for its teachers.

According to Mrs. Babatunde-Yamah, “We believe that if you don’t train teachers, don’t blame them. A teacher that has the potential and an enabling environment where training happens, where they are allowed to express themselves, will thrive.”

She explained that Blooming Greens School exposes its teachers to regular training, equips them with learning resources, and provides an atmosphere that allows them to become 21st Century educators.

Mrs. Babatunde-Yamah expressed her pride and excitement at the success of her teacher, saying, “Today, Miss Anu is representing the country, representing the state as the best teacher in the private sector of primary schools. Blooming Greens School will continue to do that with our teachers, creating an enabling environment for our learners and our teachers to collaborate, work together, including our parents.”

She emphasised that the school’s approach to education is focused on creating a collaborative and supportive environment that allows teachers, learners, and parents to work together to achieve excellence.
