Cycology commends Sanwo-Olu for accepting club’s patron role

Members of Cycology Cycling Club paid a courtesy visit to Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, recently, for accepting to be the club’s patron and approving the state’s non-motorised transport policy

Speaking at a luncheon hosted by the governor for the visiting cyclists at the State House, Marina, the Captain of Cycology Cycling Club, Temitope George, commended the governor for the greater Lagos vision and keeping Lagos safe.

She also thanked the governor for responding promptly to the club’s requests. “We want to thank the governor for approving the Lagos State non-motorised policy, which is complimentary of the government’s THEMEs agenda and vision of safe and reliable intermodal transport system which accommodate non-motorised road users.

“As a club, we have constantly associated with the state government through the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA)’s subcontractors, through our Road Sweepers’ Initiative where we appreciate road sweepers annually for keeping our roads clean and safe for vulnerable road users like ourselves and pedestrians.

“We have collaborated Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and the ministry of transport as we provided input into some transport policies as a key stakeholder in the transport sector. We are very excited about the Lagos non-motorised policy and the state having cycle lanes, cycle infrastructures to make the road safe for non-motorised road users like ourselves.

“We are confident that with our continued collaboration with MoT, lamata and other agencies, we would continue to showcase Lagos as a safe, multimodal mega city to residents and visitors.”

George told the governor about the club’s share the road and healthy lifestyle campaigns that have been carried out in different parts of the state.
