Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Saturday, distributed 600 bags of 50kg rice to her constituents across all 57 wards of the five local governments in Kogi State.
Chief Press Secretary to the senator, Arogbonlo Israel, in a statement issued on Saturday, revealed that the embattled senator launched a massive food relief effort from her residence in Okehi as part of her support to the people during the Easter season.
Among the beneficiaries were market women, religious bodies, vulnerable persons, grassroots groups, and party loyalists — a community that has felt the sting of economic hardship even more deeply during the festive period.
“Despite her suspension, she still shows up. That’s not just politics, that’s love in action,” said Hon. Abdulrahman Badamasiu, former House of Representatives member, during the distribution.
He urged the people to continue praying for Senator Natasha, praising her dedication to her constituents at a time many would have stepped back.
Recently, the Senator had given out 2,400 bags of grains during Ramadan and facilitated empowerment programs and training schemes — all under the shadow of her Senate suspension.
“She may be suspended in Abuja, but she’s present in our hearts,” said a local beneficiary, holding a bag of rice with tears in her eyes.
