Traffic along the Third Mainland Bridge was temporarily disrupted on Sunday following a fire outbreak involving a mini truck near the Adeniji-Adekunle area.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) reported the incident via a tweet.

LASTMA also cautioned motorists to drive carefully as emergency services worked to contain the situation.

LASTMA said, “There is a burning mini truck immediately after Adeniji inward Adekunle on the Third Mainland Bridge. Effort is in top gear to extinguish it. Please, be cautious with your driving.”

In another tweet, it also disclosed that the LASTMA Recovery and Emergency Team, along with The Lagos Fire Service Team, had extinguished the fire.

It added that a hiab truck is also on standby for the total evacuation of the affected vehicle.

“Normalcy is expected along the corridor once the truck is removed,” it added.

“Always double-check the condition of your vehicle before setting out on a journey.”
