An early Monday morning fire outbreak has burned down a section of the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), in Abuja.

The cause of the fire, which began at about 8:00 am, is yet to be confirmed by authorities, but a power surge is suspected culprit.

The national spokesperson of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Paul Abraham, who confirmed the incident to our reporter, said that the situation has since been contained, and investigations are underway to ascertain the cause and extent of damage.

“The fire is under control, fire investigators have been deployed to ascertain the remote and actual cause of fire.

“We got a call at about 8:20 hours this morning, and men of the Federal Fire Service were swiftly deployed to the scene of the incident,” the spokesman said.
