The management of Sub-Sea 9 Ocean Services Limited has criticised the recent publication of what it described as false facts and allegations concerning the Motor Tanker (MT) Thor, a Togolese-flagged oil product tanker vessel built in the United Kingdom in 1992.

Expressing shock and disappointment at the publication, the firm, in a statement by its company secretary, Ishabor Paul, took issue with the malicious claims of unlawful seizure, detention and vandalism levelled against the organisation’s staff.

The statement read: “While we acknowledge the confidentiality agreements in place regarding the MT Thor vessel, we are unable to provide specific details at this time due to contractual obligations and confidentiality requirements that must be carefully considered and handled.

“All parties involved in the matter are aware of the Charter Agreement which clearly states that Bulk Oil Ship and Store (formerly known as Nujenix), as the owner of the vessel, is responsible for the provision of crew, repairs, renewal and insurance of MT Thor. The documents also absolve Sub-Sea 9 Ocean Services Limited of damages to the vessel, including any wilful actions carried out by the crew.”

Regarding the issue of non-payment of agreed fees, the firm clarified that the transaction details are clear and Sub-Sea 9 Ocean Services Limited has never defaulted on any contractual obligations. The records are available for verification.

“We strongly refute and take particular umbrage at the allegations of complicity with the Nigerian Army, which are baseless and unfounded. While we are committed to resolving the issues at hand, we demand that BOSS (formerly Nujenix) withdraw the petition filed against Sub-Sea 9 Ocean Services Limited and its officials, provide compensation for damages caused by the false and malicious allegations, and adhere to the dispute resolution process outlined in the agreements.

“Failure to comply with these demands will leave us with no choice but to seek legal action to protect our reputation and interests,” the firm said.
