Residents of Jahi II Community in Abuja received food support as the Catherine Ade Foundation distributed items to more than 200 women and children.
Items distributed included 10kg bags of rice, vegetable oil, pasta, salt and seasoning cubes. Additional packs containing rice, water and soft drinks were also shared, while children received biscuits, sweets and other refreshments.
The foundation’s founder, Catherine Ade, said the outreach reflected a commitment to supporting vulnerable groups facing economic pressure.
“We are here to share love, to support the community with what we can,” she said, noting that the foundation has worked in the community for over a decade through initiatives focused on women and children.
She added that the intervention exceeded initial targets. “We are targeting 200 women and 200 children… we exceeded our expectations.”
Ade stated that the organisation focuses on educational support, moral development and assistance for the less privileged, adding that investing in children remains important for national development.
A beneficiary, Gift Ibrahim, expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely support for families facing rising costs of living.
She urged government agencies, private organisations and civil society groups to extend similar assistance to vulnerable communities across the country.
